NOTES OF THE TUBS. While riding in the race for the Naeeby Handicap plate at the autumn meeting of the Northampton and Pytchely Hunt yesterday Sam Loates, the noted English jockey, had a fall, breaking his thigh and several of his ribs. His condition is etrious. Next to Madden, LoateB has the largest number of -winning mounts on the English turf this year. Dale was the best all around boy riding around Bt. LouIb this year, either on two-year-olds or aged horses, Bprints or distance of ground, says the Bepublic of that city. He can heel a horse better than any boy seen there since the days of Isaac Murphy. ONoil iB thought to be the best of the light weights. Bill Garrett, the famous long shot horso, arrived in England recently. His owner, J. L. West, may start him next eeaBon over the jumps, a game for which he appears woll fitted. The backing of H. S. Tobacco last Tuesday was the heaviest on any one horse at the present Latonia meeting. He was beaten by Jim Nap, a rank outsider.
