Gray Dally began slowly, but worked clear of the field when rounding the far turn, came very fast in the run home and outgamed Tip Gallant when it came to a drive. Tip Gallant ran in much improved form and came again at the end. Bellcourt was outrun in the first half, but finished strongly. Pretty Rose hung in the closing strides.
