Dramatist indulged President with the lead to the far turn, where he galloped to the front and won with plenty in hand. Semper Vivax outstayed Bismarck in a hard final drive through the stretch and ran a very game and improving race Bismarck was carried wide on the turn and finished well. Squid quit badly in the last quarter. President showed great improvement and much speed for a half. Scratched 33536 Baron Knight. 112; 32911 Rostand, 112. Dramatist, show, out. Irritable is in rare form, was given a lucky start, handled his weight in great style, outraced the field from start to finish and appeared a certain winner throughout. Remorse, a slow beginner, came out of close quarters on the stretch tarn and finished very strongly but was swerving badly. Operator broke flatfooted on the inside and was crowded and did not have clear sailing until in the last quarter, where he closed. up fast after having made up much ground. Roue displayed brilliant speed and held on well. Fair Knight closed a big gap. Honolulu ran indifferently. Scratched 831303Sadie S., 102; 335583Military, 110; 334772Connecticnt, 109. Eophone was lncky and skillfully handled and, reserving his speed for the last half, was unexpectedly brushed by the unprepared Inspector Stevens, which had been used up in disposing of Somerset and Highbee. Inspector Stevens then went after Eophone, which had gained a long lead, and wore him down in the stretch. Somerset failed to stay in the last half and was swerving badly at the end. Boisterous went well. Highbee was a good horse for two miles. Scratched 33525 Loo Kate, 145. Overweights Victor, 1 pound. Eophone, show, 21 to 1. Inspector Stevens, show, 2 to 5. Eugenia Bnrch was easily best, displayed a high order of speed and stamina, raced the fast Cinquevalli into exhaustion in the first half and came away easily from Injunctions strong challenge at the end. The latter appeared to have been easily outrun in the first part of the race, but finished fast and was easing up right at the end. Cinquevalli tired in the stretch. Hackensack was going strongly at the end and prefers a longer route and soft going. Sailmaker broke slowly anrl ran green. Scratched 38478 Janeway, 110: Colonsay, 102; S3S05 LasB oLinden, 99. Blues made the running at a tremendously fast clip and was practically cantering at the end. Tom Kenny followed the fast pace closely and held on remarkably well at the end. Water Cure ran a bad race and tired badly in the last quarter. Atpoitl minute. Start good. Won handily; second driving. Our Nuggefc sustained her superior speed unexpectedly well after opening up a big gap on the field ,in the first half and showed great improvement. Gold Van is a slow beginner and out of place in a sprint race, made a wide turn and came fast at the end under the whip. Jerry, away poorly and carried wide on the turn, closed a tremendous gap and was going fastest of all at the end. Bernard also finished with a rush. Knocknagow began so slowly as to have been nearly left and made up fifteen lengths on the pacemakers. General Prig showed plenty of speed and held on well. Woodlake, highly tried, was carried along so fast in the first half that he quit, but should improve. Scratched 33580 Sapere, 112. Our Nugget, show, 3 to 5. Gold Van, show. 2 to 1.
