He rode one of tho most energetic finishes of his career, persevered with his mount all through the last quarter and helped generally. Stuyve showed much speed and appeared the winner a furlong out. He fouled Prowl at tho last sixteenth post, running him almost into tho inside rail. Ho stood a sharp drive all through the last sixteenth with gameness. Chiquasabog tired fast in the final eighth. Early avoided tho early hot pace and, when called on turning into the last quarter, moved up fast and finished strongly. Gallant Smith ran an impressive race. He swung wide into the stretch last, but closed up ground rap idly in the last eighth and finished with a rush. Ho appeared to have a good winning chance in the last sixteenth, but hung just a shade in the final strides. Savable showed much speed, but tired rapidly in the sharp action in the last sixteenth. Sydney C. Lovo was a keen contender for a half mile. Americano was thoroughly beaten just after turning for home. Tho latter was much tho best and would certainly have won with any kind of racing luck. He made up much ground in the last half, but tho effort was too much for him and he had nothing left to finish with. Huzzah ran woll for seven furlongs.
