Won easily : second the same. True Blue, from a fast beginning, gained a big advantage at the start, and with nothing to carry him alone in the first part of the race lasted the journey out in good style. C. Hosenfeld, a slow beginner, closed ud a wide early gap in too great a hurry and consequently tired right at the end and was swerving badly. Alsike closed a tremendous gap and finished with a rush. Gibson Light was repeatedly pulled ud and interfered with and had no chance with a bad jockey. Cheat Em failed to stay. Lone Fisherman ran poorly, but requires a strong, hustling ride. Gravina showed much improvement and, leading throughout with brilliant speed and stamina, finished stronely and will probably develop into a good one. Lady Josephine closed up very fast right at th Tend Rafter being carried wide on the stretch turn and losing much ground, and was probably belt. Ethics is in rare form and likes this track, trailed St. Finnan closely up to the stretch, where ho wore him down in decisive fashion, and was much the best. St. Finnan, in light, appeared like making a runaway race of it, but tired unexpectedly when a furlong out. Cuspidor outstayed Belle of Troy in a hard drive through the last furlong. The latter lacked her usual speed and was in difficulties early and can do much better. Sadie S. was hopelessly outrun from start to finish. Scratched 33535 Trigger, 110; 33678 Daffadowndilly, 108.
