He was driving to the limit all through the last quarter to stall off Lutes Fonso. The latter hung on gamely all the way. He was well ridden and saved ground at every turn. Maple was outrun in the first part, but cams strong through the last quarter. Also Ran II. ran an improved race. The others were never contenders. The latter ran in much improved form, but Sheedy was not of much help to her when the pinch came. Colonel Anderson was worn out chasing Obstinate Simon and he tired when the deciding drive came. Radford was outrun for the first half and was shut off at the furlong post just as he wbb making his run.l He would have won but for this. .
