GOSSIP OF THE TDKI. "P. J. Carmody, who has affairs of tho Kinloch raco meeting, which is scheduled to open on August 15, said yesterday that a meeting of tho Kinloch Racing Association had been hold during tho day, that harmony prevailed, that all tho contending factions had been brought togothor and that everything pointed to a most harmonious and successful mooting," says tho St. Louis Republic of yestorday. "Joseph D. Lucas was re-elected president, John S. Bratton vice-president, P. J. Carmody manager, G. N. McFarland presiding judge and handicapper, and Richard Dwyor and Jake Holtman starters. " In order to make good all round and show that talk of tho old hard feeling which may have oxisted between my predecessors at Kinloch, and my friends at Delmar, is gone, said Mr. Carmody, we have asked Mr. Brady, who is presiding judge at the Fair Grounds and Delmar to associate himsolf with Mr. McFarland in our stand. Ho has promised us his most favorablo consideration. In fact, I may say he will consent to act with Mr. McFarland. "Dick Dwyer and Jake Holtman, tho starters, enjoy national reputations. They start at all Chicago and San Francisco tracks and aro first-class men. It was thought that Mr. Dade would start at Kinloch, but ho intends to tako a vacation of two weeks with Clerk of the Scales Hachmeistor during tho Kinloch meeting. Mossrs. Holtman and Dwyor are crack starters. When local turf goers see them at work they will have a chance to learn how good Mr. Dade really is. His work will not suffer in comparison with any ones." This makes a total of 1,708 as against 1,035 last year. For the Futurity 172 horses aro eligible. Horses nominated for the Twin City Handicap, one mile and a quarter, to be run on Labor Day, are as follows : Francesco, Tom Konny, Blues, Flora Pomona, Royal, His Eminence, Ten Candles, Nones, South Trimble, Arsenal, The Rival, Chilton, Baron Poppen King Popper, Whiskey King, Articulate, Prince of Melbourne, Sadie S., Bonnibert, Herbert, Port Royal, Trigger, Carbuncle, Wyeth, Roina, Colonel Bill, MorniijgsidG, Black Dick, Requital, Lord Pepper, Par Excellence, Inventor, Advance Guard, Dr. Riddle, Lady Schorr, Hyphen, Kamara, Heno, Dixioline, Runnels, Igniter, Pentecost, Gunfire, Alcedo, Monarka, John Barleycorn, Argregor, Cuspidor. Barney Schroibers crack two-year-old filly Grand Shot, by Foul Shot Grand Lady, was cut down in a collision at tho Delmar track Friday morning, and will hardly be able to raco again this season. Tho accident to this filly was a severe blow to Schreiber. Grand Shot was foaled at the Woodlands stud, but she is practically an Australian-bred horse, both hor siro and dam baing Australian horses Grand Shot is tho first of Foul Shots get to amount to anything. She ran a numbor of highly creditable races at tho Fair Grounds, and, with the exception of Olofiant, was easily the best two-year-old filly shown around St. Louis this season. Allan-a-Dale, Thomas C. McDowells Kentucky Derby winner, will not raco again this season. Mr. McDowell at first thought of trying to got tho colt ready for the autumn events, but has decided that it would be better to wait until another season. For this reason Allan-a-Dalo was not sent on from the farm with Requital and Inventor, tho horse that ran Allan-a-Dale to a head for tho Kentucky classic, as was originally planned. He Will remain at Mr. McDowells Ashland Stud in Kentucky, and will be taken up next spring. McDowell is a master hand in the training of cripples, and it will not be surprising to see the colt win good races again next year.
