He was badly outrun for the first three furlongs, but moved up very fast when entering the laBt quarter and finished strongly. Linguist, under a vigorous ride, ran a good race, coming with a rush in the last fifty yards after hanging palpably when a furlong out. Collonade was done for when a furlong out and just lasted long enough to beat Tom Cogan a head on the post for third place. The latter ran nowhere near to his best form and has possibly gone back. Dominick swung wide with him when turning for home and lost valuable ground. Royal Pnny finished strongly and outstayed B. G. Fox in the last sixteenth struggle. Golden Scepter showed sudden improvement and was a keen contender for almost a mile. Master Mariner showed speed, but tired and quit when a furlong out. He is rounding into his best form. Hunter Raine moved up fast when turning for home and had the field well beaten when a sixteenth out, finishing strongly and fairly running away from those back of him. Scarlet Lily was well spent at the end and just lasted long enough to beat the fast-fiuishing Argregor on the post for second place. The latter came with a rush at the end and fiuished resolutely. Hermeucia put up a splendid race and ran to his best form. He and Aladdin stood a last eighth drive with gameuess. Aladdin appeared well beaten when a furlong out, but rallied in the closing strides. Otis waa thoroughly spent when entering the laBt eighth of the race. Ethel Wheat showed early spaed, as did also Leo Newell. Harry Now was not called on until just after turning into the last quarter, where he we it to the front in a stride and won as his rider pleased. Eva Rice finally maintained her speed for a mile. She was tiring fast at the end and would have lost second place in a few strides. Hoodwink faltered when a furlong out and then rallied and finished somewhat rosolutoly. Barrack flushed strongly after making up much ground while coining down the last quarter. Bronze Wing did not run anywhere near to his best form und the race should bo thrown ont of future calculations. Lake View Belle can do much hotter. Harry Now, show, 1 to 3. Eva Rico, show, 21 to 1. Tammany Chief improved suddenly and finished with a rush, making up ground in the last quarter. Fatalist ran well for a mile. She propped badly when going to the post and appeared stiff ana sore.
