Sevoy allowed Clorita to race herself into exhaustion in the firsft half, came with a rush in the run home and won going away. Lady Strathmore had to go around her field on the backstretch to get to the leaders. She came very fast in the final furlong and was wearing down the winner. Clorita showed the most early speed, but tired when the stretch drive came. Springwells was off poorly, made up a lot of ground and. finished strongly. Sevoy. show, 2 to 5. He was" taken wide into the stretch to get the best going. Onyx II. was easily the best of the others. He also came wide into the stretch and was hustled along all the way. Hallucination was outrun in the first part of the race, but came fast in the final furlong and caught Spinet tiring. The latter ran his race and had no mishaps. Her rider was of little assistance to her and messed her about badly. Obstinate Simon was probably best and would have won with better racing luck. He was knocked to his knees on the first turn and appeared to be hopelessly out of it, but Kelly persevered with him and caught his field at the turn for home, cut the corner coming into the stretch and finished next to the inner rail. McWilliams was cnt off on the first turn. He showed speed, but tired when it came to a drive. Both he and Sir Florian swung wide into the stretch. The latter tired. Adams waited with St. Hera until the stretch was reached, where he came away with ease when his rider was ready. Silk Cord set the pace on sufferance was tiring at the end and Castro eased him up when he saw that St. Hera had the race won. Dubious came strongly as usual in the stretch. He is a slow beginner. Tax Man was raced into exhaustion in following Silk Cord and had nothing left at the finish. Red Robe was doing his best, but was probably a bit short and the weight was more than he could handle. Dinksie was well ridden and had no mishaps, but tired in the closing strides. Optima finished strongly and was catching the leaders at every stride. Springwater closed up strongly in the stretch.
