i I.O CAT. TURF GOSSIP. A carload of horses which were raced on the Montana tracks arrived at Hawthorne yesterday. The horses are the property of G. W. Scott, J. Weber, and F. Duffy. The first named brought six head, including Ben Ledi and Fridolin, and F. Duffy three cross country racers. Henry McDaniel, who trains for G. C. Bennett, stated yesterday that, although Abe Frank is still in his stall at the Hawthorne track, he would not be raced any more this year. Caesar Youngs recent purchase, Water Cure, arrived from the east yesterday. It is extremely doubtful, however, if local race goers will have a chance to see the son of Watercress Lenas First sport silk, as the horse will be shipped to California with the first consignment of horses leaving these parts for the Coast. Aratoma ran away two and three-quarter miles while going to the post for the first race. C. E. Mahone, his owner, was rather chagrined over the runaway and said that it seemed rather strange that the horse should run away with Troxler, while Arvin, an 85-pound exercise boy, could make the horse do anything he asked of him.
