GOSSIP OF THE TURF. A dispatch from Lexington, July 30, says: "Col. J. P. Chinns crack two-year-old chestnut colt by Russell Morning Bride, by Harry OFallon, and bay two-year-old filly by Russell JEmily, by Peel, were shipped east today in charge of trainer Luther Dickerson to fill their stake engagements at the coming meeting at Saratoga. The former is a half-brother to Debride and Goebel, and the latter is a half-sister to Postillion. Both are very highly tried. Dickerson also took along the maiden three-year-old bay colt Prevaricator, by Oddfellow-Queen of Liars, by Sir Dixon, which will also race at Saratoga. In the same car went eight thorough- bred yearlings owned by G. H. Whitney, of Melrose r Stud, which will be broken and trained in the east by Frank Jones and raced in Whitneys colors next year. The entire collection are chestnuts in color, 1 and all are by the famous sire Farandole. In the lot are full brothers to the Brooklyn and Metropolitan Handicap winner Banastar and the 0,000 Heliobas, and an own sister to Rafaello." ; i I 1 1 1 i 1 I A dispatch of Thursday from New York to a Cincinnati newspaper says : "Capt. S. S. Brown is in New York from Kentucky, whore he has been for several days arranging some of the details in connection with the transfer of the farm he rocently purchased and which he will take possession of August 1. All these matters have been settled and the breeding stock which is now quartered at Milton Youngs McGrathiana farm will be transfored to their new home in a few days. Troubadour and Garry Hermann will head the list of stallions, while the noted mare Senorita will be the prize matron. It has not yet been decided what name will be given to the new place, but the Senorita Farm has been suggested and may be chosen. Garry Hermann will go to the farm at the end of the season, if not before. Trainer Wimmer has given up hope of his racing again. Captain Brown will not be at Saratoga for the first weeks sport, but his stable will be ready for participation in the racing from the outset."
