Talala had to be hustled along in the run home to catch Vouch, but was going away at the end. Vouch improved suddenly and showed the most early speed, but tired in the last furlong. Emma C. L. began slowly and lacked the speed she displayed the last time she was out. Pretty Rosie loafed along for the first six fnrlongs then came strongly at the finish. Her Letter was best, showed the most speed and opened up a gap when rounding the far turn, but was doing his best at the end to hold a safe lead. St. Daniel was easily the best of the others. He was cut off at the far turn and lost three or four lengths, but hung on gamely at the end. Sir Gallant ran his race. The other two were outclassed. Overweights St. Daniel, 2 pounds. Chopin was outrun in the first part of the race, but came on fast in the stretch. Irish Jewel was crrried wide into the stretch, but came again and finished well. Frivol and Firing Line were tiring. He was well handled and tried to stop on the far turn when overtaken, but Steele kept him going and outrode Thompson in the final drive. Aden ran a good game race and fought it out hard to the last stride after coming wide at the stretch turn. Illowaho began slowly and had a rough trip. He had to go all around his field at the far turn and came with a rush at the end. Com-mena showed no great speed at any part of the race.
