St. Cuthbert ran to his best form and had no mishaps. He bore in several timos in the final eighth, but not enough to prevent LEtrenne from winning. Winter made up ground in the last quarter and finished resolutely. Andes finished with a rush and ran to his best form. Theory was well spent in the final sixteenth". Magi appeared to be nowhere near up to a good race. St. Cuthbert was claimed by C. E. Durnell for ,570. Won in a canter; second easily. Dick Welles simply played with his field and was never extended. Sidney C. Love displayed keen speed and maintained ahout an even gait throughout. He was much the best of the others. Mirance finished strongly. Bay Wonder tired rapidly when a furlong out. The others were never serious contenders. , . , . Rose Tree ran an impressive race, coming with an irresistible rush at the end and wearing down Burnie Bnnton in the closing strides. The latter showed her usual turn of speed and ran to her best form, but simply could not beat the winner. Wainamoinen came with a belated rush at the end and finished strongly. Toah tired fast when the pinch came. Money Muss was well spent by the time the last eighth post had been reached. The others were always outrun. Won in a canter; second easily. Walter Cloary was much the best, assuming an easy lead just before reaching the ninth jump and gradually moving away from the field thereafter. Old Fox fenced cleanly and was much the best of the others. Falella ran her race. The ride on Anchor was a joke, the boy having all he could do to keep his seat. The horse showed willingness and speed. Porphyrogene fell at the ninth jump and Helen Paxton threw her rider at the same obstacle. Scratched 33962 B. G. Fox, 132; 33899 Scorpio, 132. Hayward Hunter finished resolutely. Miracle II. was well spent just after turning for home. Linden Ella made up ground fast in the final quarter. Lady Chorister got into a jam in the last eighth and got out too late to be of any benefit. Peat showed early speed and has evidently gone back. Scratched 34083 Mr. Phinizy, 108.
