Gayhilda won because she was handled best. Minder nursed her along carefully and outrode CaBtro and Kelly when the finish came. Dianorall. outgamedRan After when it came to a drive. Ran After was off well in motion at the start and had every advantage. Rio Bamba ran a fair race. Colonel Anderson ran a dull race and is a rank in-and-outer. Won easily; second handily. Spinet took the shortest way, came with a rush next to the inner rail, wore down the leaders and was going away at the end. Gorey was outran in the first part of the race and was taken wide when coming into the stretch and passing tired horses at the finish. Immortelle showed striking improvement. Alarie brought Lady of the West through the field in the last sixteenth and won in a hard drive. She was messed about all the way and had to be much the best to win. Scortic was raced into exhaustion in setting the pace and weakened when the final drive came. Illowaho came strongly in the last sixteenth. He was cut off a couple of times and knocked out of it when rounding the far turn. Bella showed speed and improvement over her last race. She and Rotterdam were cut off on the first turn. Captain Foraker was much the best, had to go all around his field to get up, came away without much effort in the run home and was going away at the end. Binehelio was off tangled up and was shut off and knocked out of it at the start, but closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Frivol went wide at the home turn, but came again when straightened out. Worthington tired badly. Dr. Hart ran in improved form under whip and spur. He did not carry them the last time out. Mandamus was outrun in the first part of the race, but made up a lot of ground when rounding the far turn, caught the leaders tiring in the run home and came away easily at the end, Lemuel was used up in chasing Annie Lauretta and tired in the last sixteenth. Meggs finished strongly and would have been second in a couple more strides. Chopin was in a pocket moBt of the way and finished strongly when he got clear in the run borne. Annie Lauretta showed much speed, but tired. Lemuels owner waived apprentice allowance. Scratched 33767 Baronet, 108; 33957 Teucer, 1C8; 34104 The Way, 100. Corrected weights Lemuel, 100.
