Won handily: second driving. Slip-thrift got away running under a vigorous ride and being particularly favored by the going sustained his speed throughout and outstayed the others at the end. Rockwater put up a fast and game race at the worst of the weight and will improve. She is a high class filly. Belvino, also favored by the slow going, held a prominent position throughout and finished with a rush. Dublin ran a great race at the weight, and but for stumbling in the stretch would have been second. Dr. Savior ran a high class race and is evidently a stayer and will shine over a longer distance. Clasher, remarkably improved and skillfully ridden and lucky, can beat the best. He fenced cleanly and won eased up, Bising Sun trailed far back, closed up strongly at the end and wore Rowdy down in the last quarter. The latter had bolted on all the .turns, losing probably a sixteenth of a mile. Filon dOr fenced poorly and lacked, speed on the flat. Jim Megibben, a grand horse, undor an incompetent ride fell and was remounted and finished. Scratched 34237George W. Jenkins, 149. Clasher, show, evens. Rising Sun, show, out. The entry, show, out. At post 8 minutes. Start bad. Won cleverly ; second easily. Molly Brant beat the gate, displayed phenomenal speed, wrested the lead from such a fast one as Bensonhurst early in the race, came away fast and was much the best. Wild Thyme is steadily improving, put up a fast and game race and was best of the others. Sir Voorhies drew out of the field in the last sixteenth and easing up was nearly caught napping by Merry Acrobat, which finished with a great rush, and is wonderfully improved. Maxnic got away badly and closed with an immense gap. Grantsdale, nearly left, made up twenty lengths on the leaders and must be a good one. Captain Arnold improved his position from a bad start. Judith Campbell was handicapped by the going. Scratched 34460 Grey Friar, 115; 34410 Athelroy, 106; 34339 Tantalus Cup, 105; 33386 Meltonian. 104: 34010 Love Note. 99. Molly Brant, show, 2 to 1. Advance Guard trailed to the far turn and then moved up with Herbert and Douro. He disposed of these two after a fast furlong brush and came away cantering, but left them in an exhausted condition and tiring almost to a walk, enabling Wyeth and Andy Williams to come on and get second and third places. Wyeth is a compact and high class looking colt and evidently a stayer and at home on a difficult track. He still looks big and will improve. Andy Williams was at a disadvantage in making the pace, which" was slow for the first mile, and ran a very game race, but was outclassed. Herbert bolted at the turns under a choking pull in an effort to place him. Douro moved up with the winner on the far turn, but quit after a heart-breaking furlong. Advance Guard, show, out. Auriesville, away well and under restraint, drew to the front on the turn and won cantering. Dinksie was lucky and closed up with a rush, but because of pulling up at the end was nearly beaten by Turnpike. The latter finished very fast. Latrobo closed a big gap and ran a great race. Amorous made up fifteen, lengths on the pacomakor. Harrisons preliminary was sore, but he finished fast. Tom Maybin is only moderate. Arabo was handicapped by the going and tired badly.
