Himtino was off well in motion, went to the front shortly after the start and opened up a gap that the others could never overcome. Nobleman was slower than usual in getting to going, and he was under a hard drive all through the strntch. Jigger caught Billy Dean tiring in the run home and passed him in the last few strides. Caelana was best, showed the most speed and came away with something left after disposing of Wild Wave. Optima was outrun in the first part of the race, but closed up strong on the outside and had no trouble in getting second place. It was close for third between Lady Gallantry and Lorina. The latter was gaining fat and would have been third in another stride. Wild Wave was raced to exhaustion in trying to keep up with Caelana. Mda was lame. So was Special Tax. Won handily ; Becond driving and all out. Minder rode a waiting race on Secundus. He allowed Bollcourt and Handcuff to set the pace, then came fast in the last furlong under a vigorous hand ride and was going away at the end. Bellcourt ran to her best form. She showed the most early speed and wa hurried along all the way. Handcuff hung on gamely and ran a good race. Tiffany had enough after going seven furlongs. Kinloch Park lost his rider. Red Robe began slowly but came fast in the stretch, .wore down Bill Massie and. got second place without much effort. This race should improve him.
