Sambo broke smartly for him and was in his stride at once, ran Faranlass to defeat, but had to be driven to stall off Carrie Hope at the end. The latter ran a good race and had plenty left at the end. Her rider was totally incapable of assisting and all but fell off. Faranlass showed speed, but tired and will about do when next out in this company. Amigari ran in improved form. Pretender also showed improvement. Stranger broke badly, refused to take hold of the bit and ran a bad race. Scratched 33071 Sting, 100. Overweights Egyptian Princess, 2 pounds. Sambo, show, 1 to 2. Carrie Hope, show. 4 to 1. Ben Lear was cut off at the three-eighths post and lost much ground. He came fast in the stretch, but could not quite get up. Gorey showed speed, but tired. Pickles did her best. The "low early pace helped Satin Coat, which was always well up. He moved up fast in the last half and finished strongly. Lunar did her best throughout and hung on well at the end. Barklyite ran a good race South Breeze finished fast and is improving. Kittie Clyde ran to the mark. Glonwood can do much better. Bluemint was given a very bad ride. Satin Coat, show, 7 to 10. Won driving; second the same Tabv Tosa was cut off at the three-eighths, lost ground and apparently was beaten, but came pluckily in the Btretch and wore Nettie Regent down in the last few strides. Nettie Regent showed speed but was not given a strong finish. With a strong rider up she would probably have won. Beana finished well and about ran to the mark. She needs a very strong rider to make her do her best. Nearest wa cut off and badly handled, but nearly ran her race. Bart Howe ran a good race, as did Yellowstone Lasso was pinched out at the stare.
