Evening Star was much the best, showed the most speed and won as her rider pleased. Pronta ran a good race. She had not raced in a long time and the effort should do her much good. I. Samelson ran well, but tired slightly in the last fifty yards. Lute showed a little early speed. Filiform, off well, showed to poor advantage and cam do better when placed right. Glenrice moved up fast when turning for home and finished strongly next to the inside rail. Hide and Seek showed much speed, but faltered slightly in the last sixteenth struggle. Senor was cut off in the last sixteenth, or otherwise he had a good chance to finish second. Vestia finished stoutly. Galba made up much ground in the last quarter. The latter appeared the winner when a furlong out, but tired slightlv when challenged bv the winner. Cougar ran well, but tired somewhat in the last eighth struggle. Leo Newell appeared stiff and sore when going to the post, but got off badly and ran far below expectations. George Arab ran wall for six furlongs. Rabunta snowed early speed. Nitrate displayed keen speed throughout and when Lucien Appleby closed up on him in the last sixteenth stood off the challenge with gameness and held the latter safe all through the closing strides. Lucien Appleby moved up fast when turning for home and finished strongly. Flying Torpedo tired palpably when the pinch came at the last eighth post. Rolling Boer finished strongly and is in excellent form. Dr. Stephens tired fast when put to a drive in the stretch. Constellaf or tired badly all through the last eighth. Eva Rice tired fast when the pinch came. Wing Dauce came fast at the end and his race waB a little better than it appears on paper.
