Hand Vice was well handled, saved much ground on ail turns, wore the leaders down in the stretch and won as his rider pleased. Little Rock was tiptoed all the way and failed in the run home, but was easily best of the others, Rhinewine cut the last turn closely and finished gamely. Prancer made up much ground from a poor beginning. John W. Patton and Loka swung extremely wide into the stretch.- Prince John tired in the run home. Scratchtd 34657 Farrie. 102. Dusky Secret, judiciously handled in the early stages and vigorously ridden at the end, got up in the last ten yards and was gradually drawing away. Our Sallie was under pressure in the early stages, seemed like the probable winner in the last eighth, but weakened unexpectedly in the last sixteenth. Sly Boots ran gamely and stood a hard stretch drive. Gerda quit in the last quarter as if short. Eddie T., away well, ran prominently for a half mile. Lome ran poorly and when beaten was eased up. Obstinate Simon was in the worst going on the backstretch and made a determined bid on the last turn, trat weakened in the run home. G. W. W. began slowly and was outpaced in the early stages, saved much ground on the last turn and finished with a rnsn. Frivol was a sharp contender for the first eighth onlr. Allopath avoided the early pace, saved much ground by a close strtch turn and under perfect handling lasted well through the stretch drive and was eeemingly drawing away at the end. Rustic Girl set a fast early pace which tiptoed her closest attendants, but Webers poor finishing powers beat her. Lady Kent was well away and forced the pace for the first throe-eighths, but weakened after that and swung wide into the stretch. Jim Nap rau a surprisingly good race and lasted well. Lady Berkeley could never keep up. Mattie Spencer did not take kindly to the soft track. Our Jessie wheeled as the barrier was released and was as good as left. Overweights Our Jessie, 2 pounds. Trenct the Mere, badly outran early, came fast over the last two obstacles and wore down the others on the flat. Sir Ellerslie ran an even race and had no mishaps. Lord Farandolo was tiriDg and blundered at the seventh jump, causing him to fall Cubanite could not avoid him and went down also.
