The first four were driving to the limit. Harold Parker was lucky to get off well, finished fast and won unassisted by his rider. Hetzel, always consistent, ran to the mark. Bas dOr ran a good race and finished stoutly. Hanaspinner, pulled up at the start, saved ground on the turns and closed up fast in the run through the stretch. Joquita fell and was destroyed. He closed up fast then and possibly was best Mamsolle was used too much in the first part of the race, but hung on well and finished gamely under a weak ride. Ida Penzance showed great imDrove-ment and will win in a shade lower class. The Messenger was thrown to his knees on the first turn and was made too much use of m getting to the leaders. Temptress seemed like a winner when turning for home, but tired as if short. Frank McConnell showed early spoed.
