Biserta, away badly, closed up steadily, running on the outside in the best going and caught the leaders tiring at the end, finishing strongly. Musidora ran a remarkable race in going supposed to be unfavorable to her, forced the pace and held on gamely. Alabarch broke slowly, but quickly raced into the lead and the hard, early effort tired him at the end. Lieschen finished well and ran her best race of this year. Lady Radnor and Oclawaha failed to stay. Carroll D. appeared like making it a runaway in the first quarter and quit suddenly. Lady Albercraf t outclassed the field at the weights and in the going, ran a phenomenal race and is a wonder in mud. She outbroke, outraced and decisively outstayed the others. W. R. Condon, which also broke well, suffered from a hard early effort to beat the winner. Nevertheless he held on well and is a steadily improving colt. Wild Thyme got away badly, but closed a big gap and finished fast. Durazzo, poorly ridden and in the worst going throughout, was second best. He is improving and is a high class colt. Gloriosa, particularly favored by the going, ran a cracking good race. Sparkle Esher, in great form and nearly left, made up ten lengths and finished strongly. Lady Josephine had no chance with a bad jockey. Forward was not good enough. Plater could not run in the going. Herbert outclassed the field in the going, forced the pace from a slow start and wore out the opposition in the first six furlongs and came away fast from Carbuncles strong bid at the end. The latter was badly outrun in the early part of the race, but closed up with a rush in the stretch. Arsenal displayed brilliant speed but failed to stay and was outclassed by the winner. Blues was endeavoring to outrun Herbert for seven furlongs with disastrous results. Articulate, minus blinkers, was always outrun and never a serious contender.
