Corinne Unland, off badly, made up ground fast in the first quarter and easily passed into the lead. She then spreadeagledher field and won as her rider pleased. Hargis, off flying, had no mishaps and was much the best of the others, but the big advantage at the start stood him in good stead throughout. Serpent tired after the first half had been run. Prince Blazes began slowly, but made up ground fast in the final quarter and finished stoutly. Scotch Plaid ran a dull race, tiring rapidly after the first quarter had been run. Joe Buckley displayed keen speed under a good vigorous ride, Winkfleld holding him together cleverly in the last sixteenth. Lord Touchwood began slowly, bnt moved up fast in the last quarter and was running past horses in the closing strides. He was cut off in the last sixteenth or he would probably have won. Flor-estan hung on gamely and finished stoutly. Marco showad spsed, but was well beaten when a sixteenth from home. The others were never serious contenders. The winner, entered for 81.100. was ran nn up to 10 ,800 and bought by A. D. Worley. Ed Adack was mnch the best of the others and was well ridden. Star Cotton ran a fair race, maintaining an even gait throughout after the first half had boen run. John McGurk was always well beaten. Dodie S. stood a long stretch drive with gameness and finished resolutely. Sortie made up ground fast in the last eighth and finished strongly. Ida V. tired slightly when the pinch came. Emma A.
