LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. Assistant Secretary Dillon, of Latonia wired Secretary Jasper yesterday, requesting that he notify horsemen intending to race at the Latonia fall meeting that they must make their application for stable room at once, as it will be impossible to take care of the horsemen later on account of the number who are desirous of sending horses to bo raced there. J. Davis, the well-known bookmaker, arrived yesterday from Now York where he met with big success. Ho will join the layers now operating at Worth at the next draw in. Owners Arthur, Lind and Burke were each fined 0 yesterday by the judges for bringing their horses late to the paddock. Jockey J. C. Reams was yesterday suspended by the Btarter for the remainder of the meeting. Secretary Jasper issued a notice to horsemen not to harbor apprentice J. A. Graham, as. the boy is under contract to C. K. Burdeau and left without the lattors consent. Money Muss and Leo Newell, both from the stable of F. T. Wood and well backed by the owner, landed purses. Durnell and Herz also captured two purses with My Surprise and Prince of Endurance. Jockey T. Dean scored the riding honors by piloting Little Jack Horner and Water Edge to victory. Messrs. Durnell and Herz did not concede their entry, My Surprise, a chance in the first race and allowed her to go to the post unbacked. In the second race they bet ,000 on their entry, Montanic, which ran unplaced. To cap the climax, Prince of Endurance their other starter beat out Arvensis, on which Durnell and Herz had wagered ,C0O.
