My Surprise appeared to be beaten in the last sixteenth but rallied under a vigorous ride and wore down Yinctides in the closing strides. The latter tired suddenly in the last twenty yards just as he appeared all over the winner. Jim King tired slightly when the pinch came. Capable made up ground fast in the last quarter. Deltnarch was under a hard drive all through the last mgbth. He faltered slightly in the last twenty yards, but recovered almost instantly and finished resolutnly. Andes made up ground steadily in the last quarter and finished strongly. Lady Contrary tired rapidly in the last furlong. Montanic was badly beaten off all the way. Little Jack Horner, show, 7 to 5. Water Edge moved up fast when turning into the last quarter and outstayed Pretorius in the last sixteenth struggle. He was under a hard drive all through the last eighth. Pretorius showed improvement and ran a good race. He tired just a shade in the closing strides under keen pressure. Count Em Out finished stoutly. Sarpimt had enough when turning for home. Irene Lindsoy was ridden hard all through the last eighth, but faltered slightly in the spirited last sixteenth drive. Sidney C. Love began slowly, but moved up fast when turning for home and finished strongly. Ailyar ran at about an oven gait throughout. Keniiworth was taken wide when turning for home, losing ground. She mode up much ground in the last half, bnt after passing the wire ran away another mile before Steele could check her. Siesta ran well for seven fnrlongs.
