LOO AX TURF GOSSIP. .S. C Hildreth has-sold to EzelL and .Lazarus for ,000 the horses Theory, Vulcain and Silver Fizz. It is the intention of Mr. Hildreth to sell out his older horses and replace them with youngsters. At present but few horses remain in his stable that are in racing condition. Of these the two-year-old Topsoil is probably the best. John Mannion will dispose of at .auction next Monday the horses Joe Martin, Lecturer, Irene Kelly and Kate Hays. The Faustiana stud will offer for sale at the same time some yearlings, the get of Free Knight and Faustus. Much interest was manifested by horsemen in the workout of Scintillant II., which was sent one and one-quarter miles between the second and third races yesterday. The horses work was most im pressive, and it was the unanimous opinion of those who watched him work that whichever beat him in the Golumbia Handicap, to be run Saturday, would surely get the big end of the Btake. The horses time by fractions was as follows, 25. 49J, 1:15, 1:11, 2 M. E. J. Arnold and Co. backed their entry, Fitzbrillar, heavily to win the Oaklawn Stakes. Much of their money was bet at 10 to 1 or better. The race was replete with mishaps and interference Flocarline, Lady Jocelyn and Gypzbne being the principal snf-ferers. Weir, arrived from New York yesterday.
