Won driving; second easily. Little Rock began slowly, but closed a big gup and fought it out strongly with New Amsterdam all through the last quarter. The latter showed the most early speed, but tired when the pinch came. Frank Love lost a lot of ground by making a wide turn into the homestretch. He should have won. RoBanco raced Harold Keeling and Fuego into submission in the first half and had enough left to stand off Spinet in the run home. The latter ran his race and had no mishaps, but was outrun in the early stages. Ah Fat canght Avignon tiring at the end. She latter quit badly in the stretch. Aratoma was at homo in the going, was well handled and came away without much effort in the stretch. Lou Rey appeared to be winning in the stretch, but tired at the finish. Lough Derg finished strongly, as did Heroics. The latter was away poorly and closed a big gap. Both stirrups broke on Benckart after turning into the stretch and his rider fell off. Sauber ran a good race He and Verna K. fought it out togother in the stretch and Sauber proved gamest. Verna K. went to her best form. McManus showed the most early spQed, but the weight told on him at the finish. He was made too much use of in setting the pace. Selma Frank fell at the seventh and Edgefield at the ninth jnmp. Onyx II. was beat, but had to be hard ridden at the finish to win. He caught Eddie T. tiring in the stretch and fought it out with Tommy Knight and outgamed the latter in the final drive. Tommy Knight made up much ground on the far turn and made a good, game finish. Sly Boots was taken wide when turning into the stretch, losing ground. Eddie T. tired badly in the last furlong. Boidle finished strongly under a hard drive. Gray Dally showed early speed, but could not last. Georgia Gardner began to tird after racing the first half with the leaders.
