Andes showed improvement and stood a long stretch drive with gameness. He steadily wore down Irene Lindsey in the last sixteenth. The latter showed her usual speed, but tired perceptibly in the closing strides. Fairbury came with a rush in the last sixteenth. Rag Tag was well beaten just after turning for home. Marque ran a sensational race, making up ground steadily after being virtually left, and finishing stoutly under a vigorous ride. She would have won in another stride or two. Mattie Spencer showed much speed, but tired perceptibly in the closing strides. Corinne Unland faltered in the last sixteenth struggle. Hoodwink bad enough just after entering the last quarter. . Vulcain finished strongly and easily outstayed Jack Demund in the last sixteenth for third place, The latter tired noticeably when the pinch came. Old England only showed early speed. Grgor K was pinned in against the inside rail by Hindi in the last sixteeoth and got through too late to be of any advantage. FJocarlme ran an excellent race, coming from last position in the first eighth and making up ground fast thereafter. Lady Jocelyn was thrown off her stride in the first sixteenth. St. Minor snowed much early speod but tired fast when the pinch c me. Gypzene was bumped hopalessly out of her stride in the first eighth and had no chance thereafter.
