Yelp, lucky and skillfully ridden, outstayed Silver Twist after a long and terrific drive. The latter forced the pace throughout and appeared the winner until the last hurdle was passed and was probably best. Carrier Pigeon, tightly pinned in next to the rail and jumping on the leaders, was going fastest of all at the end. Ferocious was outrun down the incline, but was gaining on the level stretch and can do better. Charagrace, under a hard drive throughout, failed to stay. Scratched 35764 Draughtsman, 153. Won handily ; second driving, De Reszke trailed, then raced around the field on the outside and came with a grand rush through the stretch. G. Whittier, shut off at the start, quickly rushed to the front and, forcing the pace, stuck to his work very gamely. Redpath ran a dull race and sulked under punishment at the end. Potente fell away -when a furlong out and then came, again right at the end. Honoluln was a good horse, ran well and finished stoutly. Double Six quit after going a fast five furlongs. Old Hutch forced the pace and held on well at the end, but had no chance with the winner in the final rush. Brunswick tired at the end. Prediction was a good colt and finished strongly with clear sailing. Ipse Dixit was driving throughout and always outrun. Ascension and McWilliams were outclassed -at the weights. Sheriff Bell made up much ground, came with a great burst of speed at the end and won in the last stride. Nevermore forced the pace thronghout and stood a long stretch drive gamely. Examiner is a stayer and was going strongly at the finish. Gallant Smith moved up fast on the stretch turn, but tired at the end. Tom Lawson broke slowly and was outrun to the stretch, where he was gaining on the leaders. Ringdove was a good colt sadly mismanaged and really had no. chance, was messed about repeatedly. Lord Badge displayed amazing speed for six furlongs and excessive use tired him at the end and ho just lasted long enough to beat Glen Water. Tho latter finished with a tremendous rush and was probably best, but was given a weak finish. Lux Casta, nearly left, trailed to the stretch where she closed a big gap. Francesco was overweighted and always outrun. Jim Clark was prominent for seven furlongs, but failed to stay.
