NOTES OF THE TURF. In the last race at Morris Park last Saturday the published Shields entry was Zoroaster and Andy Williams. Hunter Baine was also an entry. At a public sale that day Shields purchased Hunter Raine. The colt ran in the sixth race and won it, Zoroaster and Andy Williams having been scratched Many wagers were made in the west on the Shields entry, particularly at Detroit. In response to many inquiries Daily Racing Foem rules that Hunter Raine was not the Shields entry in the meaning of the wagers when they were made and backers are only entitled to a draw. The case is practically without a procedent and this decision seems equitable to backers and layers alike. H. J. K., Chicago. 1 Your wager on Lucien Appleby was a draw. 2 In the parolee your wager was without action in the case of the horse that was "out" for place and a winner on the other horse. J. J. W., Chicago. Unmasked was duly entered, but through carelessness on the part of the track officials his name was omitted in the list of entries sent out. E. H. No mistake was made. No show odds were laid against Circus. Your assumption is ill founded. F. C. Your wager was a loser because Cock Robin did not run as good as second. W. M., Chicago. As the matter is stated by you your wager appears to be a winner. C. A. Q., Chicago. Your parolee on Scotch Plaid and Charles D. should be paid. J. L., Chicago. Your wager on CharleB D. should be paid. Wade, Detroit. Your action in the matter was right. E.K., Chicago, Your wager is still a winner.
