Andes tired when the pinch came. Fake was badly cut off at the first quarter, which practically threw him out of the race. Mary McUafferty, off flat-footed, was in a pocket for the first three furlongs and got clear sailing too late to be of any advantage. Scratched 3592323t. Winner Br. h, by Sir Dixon Repeat trained by B, Vincent. Went to post at 4 :05. At post 2 minutes. Start poor. Pink Coat getting much the worst of it. Won driving; second handily. The Conqueror II. ran to his best form. He was admirably ridden, Coburn making his run at exactly the right time, the horse outgamtng Waswift in the closing strides under a vigorous ride. Waswift showed much speed, but tired just a trifle in the closing strides. Pink Coat ran one of his old time races. He was many lengths back at thestart, but made up ground fast while going down the backstretch. This took all the vigor out of him and he had little left to finish with. Ethylene ran slightly below her best form. Nitrate ceased to be a serious contender after six furlongs had been run. He was worked out an extra seven furlongs after passing the wire. The last named showed much improvement and bears watching from now on. Blessed Damozel showed mnch speed, but tired fast after turning for home. The same may be said of Do Madge. Edith Q. was running strongly at the time of the fouling and would have been a keen contender at the finish but for the interference. Scratched 35690 Little Elkin, 99. .
