Ecome was in close quarters in the first half, worked his way through the field while rounding the far turn and came away without much effort in the last furlong. Linden Tree ran well and outgamed Grandon when the pinch came. John Potter finished strongly. Lysbeth quit at the end. Grandon showed early speed, but tired in the last quarter. Lord Touchwood and 8oothsayer fought it out closely all through the last quarter. The two were lucky in escaping interference at the start. Lord Touchwood finished very gamely and was drawing away in the last few strides. Troxler made his move too soon with Soothsayer and he tired when the pinch came. Past Master was practically left. This is a fair colt. He closed a big gap and finished going fast. Marlin had no mishaps. There was a jam at the start just as the barrier was released. Lindsey made his run too soon with Bird wood, which made up a lot of ground while rounding the far turn, but tired and quit at the end.
