Our Cora ran Corsica into early submission and then came away, winning as her rider pleased. Countess Reasoner ran a good race and was much the best of the others. Wineland began slowly, but made up ground fast in the final quarter and finished strongly. Corsica showed early speed. The others were never in the hunt. David S. took tho best going down the final q larter and finished strongly, just getting up in time to win on the post. Ida V finished resolutely but was carried by Georgie toward thn inside rail in the last sixteenth where the going was very soft. This probably lost her the race. Mies fchanley finished stoutly after making up ground in the final quarter. Georgie showed much speed but tired palpably in the final sixteenth and swerved toward the inside rail. Won easily; second the same. Inspector Shea ran to his best form and had little trouble in wearing down St. Tammany in the last eighth. Evelyn Byrd finished strongly, nipping St. Tammany on the post for second place. The latter showed much speed, but tired perceptibly when the last sixteenth action came up. Mac Gyle was well spent when entering the last quarter. He appears to bo nowhere near himself. Prince of Africa ran well for five and a half furlongs. Barrack found the cuppy going to his liking and although closely pressed by Edith Q. in the last sixteenth be held her safe to the wire. The latter was under a hard drive all through the final eighth, but could not quite get up. Lou Woods showed speed, but faltered when the pinch came. The track had probably dried out just a shade too much for him to run to his best form. Lady Chorister ran well for seven furlongs.
