NOTES OJf THE TUKIf. Nearly all of tho horses at New Orleans that were shipped from Bennings contracted cold on thoir trip and are all coughing. Tho Feathorstono stable Boemed to suffer most, as every horso in tho barn has boon ailing. Tho raco horso W. J. Bakor, belonging to D. Hon-neesoy, while on routo to New Orleans from Bennings contractod lungfovorso that it was necessary to destroy him. W. Martin, tho ox-jockoy, is training Old Hutch for C. H..Smith. fc WESTERN JOCKEY CLUB ACTION. The adjourned meeting of the Board of Stewards of the Western Jockey Club was held at 8 oclock p.m. on Monday, December 1, 1902. The following disqualification of persons was removed : A. P. Agnelly, Mrs. R. J. Searcy, William Grand, Ivy Powell, Mrs. F. Simons. Tho following jockeys wero reinstated : E. Fou-con, T. McNichols, T. McGovern. Application of Otto Niemeyer for permission to run tho horse Letonka was denied. Application for reinstatement of jockey C. E. Murphy was deniod. Applications of R. J. Laughlin for reinstatement of Passe Partout and of D. B. Austin for reinstatement of Princess Julion wore passed to the next mooting of the Board. Applications for reinstatement of jockeys George H. Pierce and Spencer Sutherland wero passed to the next mooting. LICENSES GEANTED. Trainers J. Bahnsen, John Baker, J. P. Berger, A. F. Dayton, Ed. Dealy, S. H. Haworth, George Howe, J. O. McClain, Blair Mock. Jockeys B. Boiesen, E. J. Cantwell, T. E. Cica-, mins, F. L. Dart, G. Fuller, W. Grand, E. Hayes, C. Maddux, J. G. Patton, E. Reddington, R.Waugh, C. R. Wilson. Apprentices T. Green, W. Leeds, R. M. Parcell, A. Smith. Following applications for license were passed for future action : W. Brophy and W. P. Doyle, trainers, and James Foley, apprentice. Bills for services to injured jockeys wore approved and ordered paid. Application of James Robertson for permission to race the horso Syrlin, formerly 8evoy, was denied. In the matter of the appeal of C. M. Wattors from the action of the Highland Park Club officials in the disqualification of Rustic Girl, it was held that the protest upon which action was taken was not properly made, and it was ordered that the purse be paid to the owner of Rustic Girl, and that the jockey, A. Hall, be fined 5 for riding without first having made application to the Western Jockey Club for a license. It was ordered that the entries of all persons whoso names appear in tho list of those having claimed duplicate colors, as published in the Bulletin, be refused until they comply with the rule. The suspension of Jockey C. Bonner was extended to January 1, 1903. Tho appeals of F. F. Gazzolo and E. L. Talley wero continued to tho next meeting.
