Those that raced best, judging by their seldom running unplaced, were Scotch Plaid, Obstinate Simon, The Lady, Federal, Advance Guard, Vincennes, Prince Blazes, Sir Flo-rian, Bose Tree, Golden Rule, Zoroaster, Ailyar, Springwells, La Goleta, Radford, Roxane, John Bright, Yesuvian and Kalos, the latter being the only one that was placed in all nis races.
