Won driving; second the same, lhe first four fought it out closely all through the last quarter. Carat came from behind in the stretch and outgamed OHagen when it came to a hard finish. OHagen showed the most early speed, but was used up in racing with Blueblaze and was tiring at the end. The Messenger had a rough trip and was cut off while rounding the far turn, but finished fast on the inside. Lofter finished well. Blueblaze ran well to the stretch. Floyd K. ran a good race, but tired after getting to the leader. So did Melbourne Eclipse after he had closed a big gap. Burke Cochran came wide into the homestretch. Bummer ran a good consistent race. Albula showed speed, but tired as if short. Playlike appeared big when going to the post and showed but little speed. Then he came away with a fine display of speed and was easily the best in the going. Albert F. Dewey was down in the deep going for the entire trip, ran a good race and outgamed Emshee when it came to the final drive. The latter showed the most early speed, but tired when put to a hard drive Scotch Plaid ran his usual consistent race. Stratton showed early speed. Hargis and Nitrate were overweighted.
