Ivernia displayed improvement and ran a good race. Pageant ran well, but bore out in the stretch and interfered with Merry Maker. The latter-finished fast under a hard drive. Morokantarah a good race after being shut off on the turn. Frank Rice came fast at the end1 from a poor start. Meistersinger quit under punishment. Remorse was standing still when the barrier went up. The last half dozen had little chance with the start. Scratched 35552 Stevedore, 112. Overweights Prairie Flower, 1 pound. ONeil rode a skillful race on the winner, saved ground all the way and rode a strong hand finish. The winner is a good one and a game one. Hamburg Belle was gaining at the end under punishment and would have won in two more strides. Her race was a big improvement over her previous effort. Fickle was very speedy, but does not seem able to stay at present. Reverberate ran a fair race. Adel Trebla was always outrun. Eleata ran poorly. "Right and True scored a lucky victory as Nevermore was the best. The former forced a fast pace all the way, but tired in the final furlong and swerved badly in the run to the finish. Nevermore was taken wide on the stretch turn and had to be whipped to get to the front. He bore out under punishment and Haack had to stop riding, but he came fast when straightened out and was catching the winner at every stride. Embarrassment was interfered with at the start, but Wilkerson saved ground all the way and the colt finished going fast. Bobbinet showed speed and is worth remembering in poorer company. Scratched 38372 Cranesville, 101; 36448 Rosewater, 101. No show betting. QTQT FOURTH RACE 1 Mile and 70 Yards. 00 added. 3-year-olds and up- QtiiO and ward. Handicap. Numeral came with a rush when once straightened out in the stretch, but tired when he caught Silurian and had to be hard ridden to beat Circus out. The latter saved ground on the turns and finished fast next to the rail. Silurian showed speed and is improving, but was not yet up to the route. Ethics was plainly short. He closed up in the stretch and seemed the winner when a furlong from home, but tired near the end. The race should improve him and he can beat this kind when right. Lord Badge ran under a drive nearly all the way. The Regent ran well for six furlongs. Scratched 38282 Ahumada, 107; 38429 Meistersinger, 95; 38372 Athelroy, 95.
