G. got away in the lead, made the running throughout and finished easing up and was much the best. Theodora L. made up ground in the stretch and finished fast. Philaernus, poorly ridden, worked through an early rough journey and finished resolutely. Sherry wide stretch turn. Mover tired in the stretch closed a gap after losing much ground by a and can do better, but probably favors mud. Brennus is also best in soft going. Mordenta got away very badly. Toltec, suddenly and greatly improved, was lucky at the start and had clear sailing, displayed much speed on the turn and assumed command when a furlong out, coming away fast at the end. Strife also secured a good start and ran in suddenly improved form, finishing fast. Quaker Girl was badly ridden and crowded at the end. H. L. Frank, nearly left, closed a great gap. St. George Jr. made up ten lengths in the last quarter. Crigli showed, speed early. Dr. Rowell was practically left and only cantered the journey. Scratched 37994Lady Laurie, 104. Milas worked a rough early journey, closed up fast at the end and just failed to get up and was best. Albert Enright got away badly and closed a great gap. Bob Palmer went well. Fondo, nearly left, made up much ground. Temper is improving. Grand Sachem failed to stay. Halmetta was knocked out of it at the start. Scratched SSSSOonda, 109; 38389 Rainier, 103. The latter was badly interfered with on the far turn and finished like a whirlwind. Annie Max, nearly left, made up much ground and finished very fast on the outside. The Fretter and Headwater were going fast at the end. Kenilworth is being raced into condition. Byron Rose fell to his knees on the far turn and had no chance with a bad ride. E. M. Bernota closed a great gap from a bad start. Sly failed to stay. G. W. Trahern was crowded back and hopelessly messed about in the first furlong and closed a big gap.
