Jerry Lynch, off well in his stride, showed much speed and easily came away from I Must in the last eighth winning as his rider pleased. The latter also displayed speed, but tired fast in the closing strides. Forehand finished going fast and was wearing I Must down in the closing strides. Plea showed scant speed. He ran in blinkers and this may account for his good showing. St. Cuthbert faltered palpably when called on in the final sixteenth. He appears to be nowhere near himself. Fullback finished going fast. Aylmer Bruce showed early speed, but was well beaten after running four and a half furlongs. The others were never serious contenders. Scratched— 38774 I. Samelson, 133. Huz-sah moved up fast when turning for home and stood a long drive in game fashion, showing improvement over his last race. Nitrate was pocketed at the head of the stretch and had to be taken to the outside. This cost him the race. He finished going fast and would have won in another stride. Little Scout faltered slightly in the closing strides, but ran to his best form. Gregor K. fell away beaten when the pinch came. Ed Adack showed speed for seven furlongs. The latter had no mishaps and ran to his best form. Frank M. had little chance from where he got off, not getting into his full stride until after passing around the first turn. He ran an. impressive race and with any kind of luck would have won Gin Spray ran well for six furlongs. Lucy Locket, Malay and Dr. Gurnsey had no chance after the barrier went up.
