Perla was much the best, liked the slippery going, showed much speed and won as her * rider pleased. Bird Pond was doing her best throughout and ran her race. Cadet ran in bar plates, made up much ground in the last half, came fast In the stretch and won in the last stride. One More ran a good race and seemed toT be the winner up to . the last sixteenth. Oakling liked the going and was right there up to the last hundred yards. Miss Guido tired and quit badly. Lennie Powell ran well. Cadet, show, 4 to 5. One More, show, 8 to 5. Oakling, show, 5 to 1. St. Agnes H. liked the going, ran in the heaviest part of it throughout and was well ridden. Ora McKinney ran a good race, but was given a weak finish, Booker allowing her to swerve. Jehane tired and quit badly and evidently does not fancy soft going. She has acted like a quitter in her last two races. Scratched— 38865Radium, 109. * Overweights — Loniana, 5 pounds. Start good. Won handily; second driving. Albert F. Dewey ran to his best form under good handling. Hall laid in behind Kaffir with him to the stretch and the horse came away from the field impressively when given his head. Kaffir showed plenty of speed and -was well handled, but tired in the last sixteenth as though a trifle short. Scortic finished going fast as usual. Chamblee was poorly ridden. W. B. Mike Strauss got off badly and ran a good race all things considered. Mollie T. had a hard time in getting through. Fickle Saint was cut off at the stretch turn. Miss West can do better. Nearest showed the most speed, but was tiring and only won through a good ride by Hall, he clearly outfinishing Shea. Orris ran a good race, finished fast and should have won! Monos did not run his race, but was much the best of the others. Josie F. got away badly and finished fast. It was her first start this year and the race should do her good. Bear Creek made up ground from a bad start. Barkelmore ran a bad race. Scratched— 388182Sir Christopher, 105; 38869 Rochester, 103; 38918 Lunar. 103- 38820 Kit-tie Clyde. 103; 38797 Prince Eugene, 92. Nearest, show, out. Orris, show, 8 to 5. Monos, show, 2 to 1.
