Hie Away ran a good race and was best handled and Munro outrode Hodgson when it came to the deciding drive. Hodgson lost a lot of ground with Euclaire when turning for home. George Perry showed speed, but tired in the stretch run. Gold Cure finished going fast and is improving. Cassville showed a great burst of early speed, but quit suddenly. Termagant came with a rush in the final sixteenth, raced Sky Blue into submission and won in the last stride. Short Cake finished fast, caught Sky Blue tiring and took second place without trouble and gave Termagant a stiff argument at the finish. Sky Blue showed early speed. Loupania was always outrun. Dalliance was much the best, went to the front at the sixteenth jump when called on and from there on had things all his own way. Hero was outrun in the first part of the trip, but came fast in the stretch and got second place without trouble. Buffer was used too much in the first part of the race and was all out at the finish. Ten Below Zero bolted at the second jump, then went on again, but lost his rider at the seventh jump. Tweed broke down after taking the second jump.
