THE HAGGIN SALE. Big prices ruled at the Haggin sale Wednesday of last week and bidding was lively. Forty-two yearlings were disposed of for a total of 1,150, an average of ,694. The star of the lot sold was a coltby Star Ruby— Linda Vista. After Sydney Paget, S. Deimel and others bid on him. J. Kneale secured the youngster for 5,000. Green Morris made a determined effort to buy the full brother to Cunard, a colt by Goldfinch— Lucania, but he went to P. Loril-lard for 4,000. A. L. Aste was again a buyer, paying ,100 for a colt by Star Ruby— Moonflower. J. Kneale bought a brother to Golden Maxim for ,800. Sydney Paget secured the Bassetlaw— La Scala youngster fbr ,000, while a colt by Watercress— La Flecha went to A. J. Joyner for ,500. Pat Dunne and Ed Corrlgan, through representatives, were among the purchasers. A filly by Watercress— Le Fleur went to Mr. Dunne for ,000, whilefor the same figure he bought a Watercress— La Primera colt. A Goldfinch— Maxima filly went to Mr. Corrlgan for 00. There was considerable Interest in how much the full sister to Nasturtium would bring, but she was not offered, and it is understood will be sent to Kentucky.
