MORE HAWTHORNE STAKES. , The Chicago Jockey Club is first In the field with an attractive list at stakes for the local mid-summer and autumn campaign, soon to be followed up with similar off erings from Harlem and Worth. The Intention is to make things so pleasing to western turfmen that they will find it to their interest to race their horses at home in the west. The list now tendered by the Chicago Jockey Club must conduce effectively to that end. It is as follows: For three-year-olds— m£e TMl Stakes, ,500 added; 51 furlongs. : e Thandsummer Stakes, selling, ,500 add-1 The Fall Handicap, ,500 added; 7-8 mile. For all ages— 3-?mileFIeetf°0t HandicaP« S1500 added; For three-year-olds— 1 mife September Handicap, ,500 added; For three-year-olds and upward— The August Handicap, ,000 added: 1 1-4 miles. The Endurance Stakes, ,500 added; 2 miles. The mile. Speculation Stakes, ,500 added:-l The July Selling Stakes, ,500 added; 1 1-16 miles. The_ Emerald Steeplechase, » ,000 added: the short course. These are important stakes and are supplementary to a number more left over from last springs closing. All should be; and no doubt will be, liberally patronized.
