WESTERN JOCKEY CLUB ACTION. The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Stewards of the Western Jockey Club was held Monday, July 6, 1903. Disqualification of the following persons and horses was removed: William Campbell, owner, and the horse Athol Brown. Lee Campbell, owner, and the horse Her-day. Fred E. Burnell, owner, and the horse I Know. Midlo, the property of Sherman and Bailer. W. H. Glore, owner; W. E. Woods, trainer, and the horses Dutch Comedian, Percy R.t Frank Jones, Little Emmy, Lady Mary Peter, Tonanda. J. J. Hoffier and G. Mountain, jockeys. The application for reinstatement of C. Johnson, jockey, was referred for action. Applications for rehearing were denied the following: Daniel Gady, jockey; Frank Lawless, jockey; Spencer Sutherland, jockey; G. H. Pierce, jockey; W. B. Buchanan, jockey. The application of E. W. Fitzgerald for reinstatement of the horse Sue Johnson was denied. Appeal of E. E. Farley from the decision of Detroit Jockey Club officials regarding the alleged ringing of Aimless for Sarah Black was dismissed. Application of E. E. Farley for rehearing regarding fine imposed in connection with jockey Foleys services was denied. , Application of Mrs. Tennie Fizer for ap- Continued on second page. WESTERN JOCKEY CLUB ACTION. of sale of five horses to A. H. Pendleton tT royal was referred for action. - Upon application of Mrs. L. G. Tate disqualification of. the following horses was Tempved: Miss Golightly, Tickful, Euterpe, and Ida Ledford. Upon application of P. J. Millet disqualification of the horses Foundling and Menace was ordered removed upon payment of forfeits amounting to 0. The application of George "W. Beck for reinstatement of the horse Tom Collins was denied. Application of E. Corrigan for punishment of the persons involved in the claiming of the horse Stratton II. at New Orleans in alleged violation of the rules was dismissed. The following new rule was adopted: Jockeys under contract to or under management of others than owners of horses in good standing shall be disqualified. Persons not owners in good standing contracting with or acting as managers of jockeys shall be barred all privileges. Rule 165 relating to allowances for apprentices was amended to read: "He shall be entitled to this allowance for one year after winning his first race." The following new rule was adopted: Licenses for race meetings will not be granted to new or projected racing associations without the formation of such association shall first be approved by the Stewards. The Stewards noted with regret the death of Jos. D. Lucas. Racing secretaries were directed to allow no ruled off person on tracks under their control.
