Won driving; second easily, ■ute began slowly, but made up ground fast in the last quarter and, catching Headwater ■heh a sixteenth out, outstayed him to the wire. The latter was carried a little wide ■heh turning for home and stood a long stretch drive well. Balm of Gilead showed speed, ■ut tired somewhat in the final sixteenth. Zella Knight ran a good race and bears watch-Bg from now on. Lovable ran his usual honest race. Sharp Bird ran wide when turning Br home after showing much speed. Won easily; second the same. ■Peter Paul was closely attended by Auditor for the first four and a half furlongs, but shook Hhim off -when a sixteenth out and won as his rider pleased. The latter ran to his best form Rand met with no hishaps, but was not good enough. Mizzen Mast tired slightly in the clos-Hing strides. He interfered with Miss Crawford in the last fifty yards, causing her to pull Hup slightly. The latter was coming fast at the time and but for the interference would ■probably have been third. Japan ran well for four and a half furongs, but tired in the ■closing strides. The latter, as usual, began slowly, but moved up fast ■ in the final quarter and finished resolutely under a hard drive. Lendin ran well, but tired ■ perceptibly when the pinch came. Airtight was well beaten after five furlongs had been ■ run. Ilmarinen ran well for six furlongs. She pulled up very lame after the finish. ■ Gregor K„ show, out. Bondage, show, out. Allan-a-Dale was not called on until entering the last quarter, where he easily disposed of Jack Demund when a furlong out and won as his rider pleased. Jack Demund showed much speed, but tired rapidly when challenged by the winner. He ran to his best form and is in excellent condition just now. Hermencia finished going fast. The latter closed up fast in the final eighth and would have won in a few more • strides. A. D. Gibson ran to his best form, finished going fast* and was easily best of the others., The Giver ran an excellent race, tiring only in the last sixteenth.
