THE SCHORR SALE. Duke of Kendal was the star of the sale of racehorses owned by John W. Schorr, James McLaughlin and others held at Brighton Beach last Saturday. There was much competition for the son of Sir Modred, and Alex Shields finally secured him for ,600. The highest priced one in the Schorr lot was Pentaur, which went to J. L. McGinnis for ,300. Mr. McGinnis also bought Monet for ,000. Escobar was bought by S. J. Lawlor for ,600. The colt Rightful went to Charles Dwyer for ,600, and the young turfman paid ,500 for Eva Russell. Milton Jones, of San Francisco, bought John A. Scott for ,000. Henry McDaniel, representing George C. Bennett, the Memphis horseman, paid ,700 for Walterin.
