Won easily; second the same Sourire showed the most speed and held his field safe all the way, coming away as he pleased with plenty in reserve. Marshal Ney had to be hustled along all of the last furlong to save second place. Lyrist was as good as left at the post and closed a big gap while rounding the far turn, but tired after getting to the leaders. George James tired Scratched— 39190 Weathergage, 104. She received a very vigorous ride from the hea*d of the stretch and Minder just managed to get her up in the final stride and outfinished Walsh. May Combs showed the most early speed and seemed like a sure winner at the furlong post, but Walsh was overconfident and threw the race away. Lora J was easily the best of the others and always held them safe. Dapper showed early speed. " Overweights — May Combs, 2 pounds. Diamontina, show, 1 to 2. Minder rode a waiting race on Ice Wat,er, avoiding the early pace and making his run in the last quarter* and came through next to the inside rail at the stretch turn. He finished very fast and won going away at the end. Bummer II. made his usual strong finish, coming from nowhere in the homestretch. Albula ran his race. Golden Cottage, Mrs Frank Foster and Amigari raced each other into, exhaustion in the first five eighths. Overweights — Bummer II., 2 pounds. Ice Water, show, out. Bummer II., show, 1 to 2. Butter Scotch wore down Firing Line in the last quarter and, after racing him into submission, came away with comparatiA-e ease. Firing Line started to make his run after leaAing the backstretch and opened up a gap on the far turn, but tired Avhen OAertaken. Benckart was outrun in the first part of the race, but finished fast and was catching Firing Line at the end. Trocadero had no mishaps. Binehelio AAas always outrun. Rene can do better. Monida quit after showing a burst of early speed. Corrected weights — Firing Line, 110; Binehelio, 105. Butter Scotch, show, out. Firing Line, show, evens. Benckart, show, 2 to 1. Red Car showed the most early speed, but tired at the end and almost lost second place to Sauber. The latter made up much ground in the run on the flat. It was not far enough for Daryl. Pat My Boy fell at the second Jump and Cubanite lost his rider at the fourth. Trenct the Mere, show, 2 to 1. Rod Car, show, out. Sauber, show, 1 to 2. Big Gun, show, out.
