Fairbury raced Reeves to defeat in the stretch run and won under pressure. Reeves ran well, but Hall was not of much assistance to him when the pinch came. Nellie Forest got off poorly, closed a .big gap and finished fast. George Perry showed speed and improvement, but tired at the end. Military had no chance from where he got off. Malakoff got away all tangled up. never got to going well until in the last quarter, ran all-around his field, came with a rush in the homestretch and won going away. Henry Waite was away running, but dropped out of it in the first three-eighths and then came again in the stretch. Ericula ran well, but swerved badly in the stretch in front of False Entry.
