King Rose laid away from the early pace and came fast on the outside in the stretch and « won going away. Jake did his best and had no mishaps. The Advocate was hard ridden throughout, but tired under pressure. Require showed early speed, but quit badly in the last sixteenth. Dr Clark regained his" true form suddenly, was much the best and won going away. Axares made the pace until well into the stretch and as the race was run was easily best of the others. Chandoo was vigorously ridden throughout and ran a very poor race at all stages. Kittle Clyde had no mishaps and ran about to her late form. A Lark was given a weak ride but under no circumstances did he have a chance to beat the winner. Mimo showed a high order of speed for five-eighths and then quit badly. Clifton Forge showed the most speed throughout, was much the best and was never in trouble after gong the first hundred yards. Lacache was caught in a bad jam after the start, made up much ground and ran a good race. Sid Silver ran a winning race from where he got off and might have won had he not swung wide in the stretch.
