Adelante began slowly but closed a big gap and drew away without much effort in the stretch run. Satchel is overrated. She made up a lot of ground while rounding the far turn, but was tiring badly at the end. Circus Girl and Fleuron fought it out all through the last quarter the former staying best. The latter closed a big gap but tired when the final drive came. Flaneur ran poorly. Chanterelle was used up in setting the earlv pace. Scratched 41295Menace. 110; 42412Leenja, 106. Alma Dufour got away tangled up and had to go all around the leaders to get to the leader and came wide into the homestretch, but drew away without much effort in the stretch run. Lida Leib ran a good race and outgamed Allista when it came to the deciding drive. The latter was much used in chasing the pacemaker in the first half and tired. Moulin Rouge showed early speed and set a fast pace, but quit when the pinch came. Silk Maid was outrun all the way and was never a sharp contender. Lyrist was as good as left. Bonner took Bardolph back while rounding the turn out of the backstretch, then brought him along fast, wore Redan down in the last furlong and outgamed him at the end. Redan showed the most early speed and set a fast pace, but his weight told on him when the final drive came. Ben Howard began slowly, had to go all around his field to get up, but finished fast and outgamed Tax Man for third money. Tax Man ran fairly well. Hilee can do much better. Sanetomo made a show of his field, displayed a high order of speed and drew away cantering, after racing Commodore and Armorer to defeat in the first half. Commodore hung on gamely through the last furlong and just managed to last long enough to stall off Marshal Ney. The latter, as usual, began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished fast. Armorer quit in the last furlong, after going a good half. Sanetomo, show, out. Commodore, show, evens. Marshal Ney, show, 4 to 5. 4:2503 SIXliRACE 1 Mile and 50 Yards. Antolee was outraced in the first half and Bonner did not hurry her along, but she came around her field on the far turn and finishing fast, outgamed Briers when it came to a drive. The latter began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished in close quarters next to the inside rail. Baffled was hard ridden all the way and got third place because Romanelli ,on Gallawater eased up in the last sixteenth to keep from putting Briers against the fence Gallawater showed surprising early speed. Scratched 42451Mint Bed, 109; 42451 Kilmorie, 96. Antolee, show, out. Briers, show, 1 to 2. Baffled, shw 6 to 5.
