Latheron, away well in motion, forced the early running and saved ground when turning into the homestretch and, "finishing gamely, held Simplicity safe through the final furlong. Simplicity ran well, but suffered from Interference and was knocked back sharply on the stretch turn. Benora came with a fine burst of speed in the last quarter. Nona W. tired in the stretch. Usury, lucky to avoid interference, showed much speed, raced Ala Russell into subjection and stood the final drive with rare gameness. Joe Colson came with a rush in the last quarter and was pressing the winner hard at the end. Hocus Pocus had to go wide into the stretch, but stood a drive well and Is showing steady improvement. Excitement, timidly ridden, was a sufferer from much Interference and was in close quarters during the stretch run. Ala Russell was speedy, but quit badly. Dr. Heard had scant chance, being knocked about repeatedly. Grove Center ran a good race and is worth remembering. Scratched 59443Marvel P., 107; 59205 Dr. Coffey, 99; 54000 Blllle Gannon, 114. Helen Lucas broke fully in motion and, being given a hustling ride, maintained her speed well and held Creole Girl safe in the final drive. Creole Girl ran a good, game race and was wearing the winner down in the last sixteenth. Our Own had clear sailing and maintained an even- pace for the entire trip. Little Wanda came fast in the last furlong and .finished gamely. Lucy Marie ran in improved form and has worked extra fast. Runsum will improve. Blackweli Is far from ready. Phil Finch, in his present good form, was much the best, could not be restrained in the early stages, forced the pace and ran into a long lead after going a quarter and was only cantering to- the finish under a stout pull. Mainspring, badly ridden, ran a surprisingly good race, was sharply impeded several times and finished fast and gamely, but was not good enough to beat the winner. Dolinda had clear sailing and, well handled, ran a fine race and lasted well. Tartan was given a bad ride and should have been second. Nones had no chance with the poor ride he got. Little Scout tired badly In the last half. Benvolio ran a dull race, although meeting Interference. King Ellsworth tired after going three-quarters. The latter, probably best, was away in a tangle, had to go wide on the stretch turn and, finishing fast, barely failed to get up. Investor worked through a rough trip and finished gamely. Evle Greene, away in a good position, showed high speed, but tired in the final furlong. Henry O., a consistent performer, overcame Interference and finished with a rush. Dr. Hart was going well at the end. Ponca closed a big gap steadily. J. P. May-berry seems in poor form and ran a bad race. Van Hope ran a dull race and was never a serious factor. Falrbury closed a big gap from a slow beginning and finished with a rush. Brookston flashed into the lead and set a fast pace to the stretch, where he tired. Baywood ran a poor race. Water Lake ran away two miles before the start. Firing Line ran well to the stretch, then tired. Athena finished fast. . Scratched 59343 Ed Early, 95; 58405 Gay Lizzette, -100.
